The novel that I read over the summer was One Shot at Forever by: Chris Ballard. I would rate this book as a 9.5 out of ten. I rated this book this high because it is a really neat story about a team from a small town that proves everyone wrong about who they are. The team is made up of about 11 players from the small school of Macon High in central Illinois, and their favorite teacher who turns out to be their unlikely coach. As the Macon Ironmen battle through out each year, they become better and better with each game they play. When they arrive in the state tournament the first time they find out bad news about their improbable first year. But when they come around for a second shot at the tournament they out Macon on the map, and everyone rooting for the underdog. The theme of this novel would be to never give up .
